Sub-Saharan Africa is arguably the poorest and most exploited region in the world. Civil war, political unrest, disease, drought and crime have left some parts so desperately impoverished and isolated, people merely survive without a concept of life outside their boundaries. For them to see a doctor is literally a once-in-a-lifetime experience. DFL’s outreaches offer essential medical relief to these virtually inaccessible and primitive villages.
This medical outreach project has traveled most of Southern Africa, reaching communities in Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana and South Africa. Doctors and Volunteers treck through harsh territories for several weeks to offer medicine and education to remote and poor villages. Thousands have been helped through this program.
