30 January 2005 was sanctity of life-sunday and thousands of pro-lifers came together accross South Africa. People held posters with messages like: "Abortion kills babies", which thousands more could witness. Some actions that took place where this took place included a Funeral Procession from Keisergracht Str to the Parliament in Cape Town. In Port Elizabeth there was a Pro-Life Picket along Cape Rd. In East London and Bisho another Funeral Procession and Prayer Vigil. In Johannesburg a prayer Prayer Vigil took place outside the New Constitutional Court and Balito had approximately 300 people carrying posters with pro-life messages in front of the Life Style shopping centre.

Doctors for Life International represents more than 1000 medical doctors and specialists, three-quarters of who practice in South Africa. DFL was founded as a South African organization in 1991 and has spread across the globe. DFL is involved in several community projects including orphan care, the care of terminal AIDS patients, malaria prevention and the care of abused women.
