Project Aid to Africa:
The Zavora Clinic Construction Progress

Herewith some photos showing the progress on the construction of the clinic (Unidate Sanitaria in Portuguese) up untill 9 July 2008.

Above: the clinic as seen from the building that DFL bought that will provide accomodation to the medical staff and volunteers.


Abovet: This is a close-up of the sanitary tank.

Above: The pasage leading from the maternity ward (near right) to the waiting area (far left) and the consultation rooms of the doctors (far right).

Above: Here the same passage, as well as the maternity ward, can be seen clearly from a distance. The maternity ward faces north.

Above: This is the eastern side of the clinic.The maternity ward is on the right and the Consultation rooms and waiting areas on the left. It also shows the garden which has been started. Shade is esential in the heat that these tropical areas offer and therefore a lot of trees are being planted.

Above: This is the toiltes and water pump house. It is situated behind the maternity ward as seen on the picture above left.

Above: This is the western view of the clinic. The consultation rooms are now to the right and the maternity ward to the left, with the pasage linking the two buildings in the middle.

Above: The second donated container is being offloaded. The building seen here, was purchased to house the DFL medical staff and volunteers. The road, as seen in the image, leads north to Inharime. Approximately 4km behind the camera towards the souht, lies Praia de Zavora. Although not visible, the clinic lies in the middle of this photo amongst the coconut trees.
