The decriminalisation of prostitution in South Africa Doctors for Life has been approached by the Attorney General of the Transvaal to testify in the court case on the decriminalisation of prostitution in South Africa. Being an organisation, which stands for sound science in the medical profession, DFL will be leading evidence on the health issues involved. Of special importance in this respect is prostitution’s role in the spread of HIV and sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s), as well as the psychological effects of prostitution on both the prostitutes, their clients and society as a whole.Doctors for Life is an organisation of more than 800 doctors, specialists and professors of medicine from different medical faculties in South Africa.
